How Fishling is designed
Fishling helps people learn fishing skills, identify species using a guide, record catches and build a personal Catch Card collection. The app is intended to be useful even when the adult helping a child is also new to fishing.
Privacy by default
Fishling is designed so a user can begin locally without creating an account. Where an account is created, it is used for features such as syncing catches between devices and securely storing selected catch information and photos.
Exact fishing locations are not intended to be published publicly by default. We also aim to collect only the information needed for the feature being used.
Photos and Catch Cards
A catch photo can be used to create a personal Catch Card. The original catch photo remains the user's content. If cloud sync is enabled, photos can be stored in private storage linked to the signed-in account.
Learning and safety
Fishling provides general educational guidance. It does not replace adult supervision, local fishery rules, Environment Agency requirements, tide or weather checks, or common-sense waterside safety.
Questions from parents
If you have a privacy, safety or family question, use the contact page. We would rather answer a question than leave something unclear.
